  • A Few Pole Questions…

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site and to pole dancing. I discovered it a few years ago and thought it was so beautiful!  I've finally been able to save enough to buy a quality pole but I have a couple of questions first. I want to make sure that I buy the right pole, since replacing it isn't really an option for me. I've done literally hours of research on what pole to get and I've narrowed it down to a couple of options. Either the 45mm chrome X-Pole, or the LilMynx Stainless Steel "Rotator". My first question is this…..I would need to take the pole down several days a week when certain family members come over (read: IN LAWS)…would this effect the stability or safety of either pole? Or damage my ceilings? Or make the pole "wear out" too quickly?………My second question is this…..how much time is involved with the take- down/assembly of each pole? And my final question is this…are the X-Poles sold through this site authentic? I'm pretty sure I read that they are, I just want to make certain. I would love any and all advice that everyone could give me. Thank you so much! -Amanda K

Hi Amanda. I bought an X-Pole XPert 45mm chrome last month. This model gives you the option of static and spin mode. Once you install it the first time, you will understand it well enough to be able to take it down and put it back up very quickly. As in 5 minutes or less. As long as you follow the instructions, you should not have any issues with stability or wear due to taking it down and putting it back up. Ceiling damage would depend on what type of ceiling you have and the quality of construction. I have painted/high quality construction ceilings and I can see a line where the dome sits, but it is not that visible. Unless someone is staring hard at your ceiling, it should not be noticed. The poles sold through this site are authentic X-Poles. I believe Veena might be having a shipping sale right now ? Not sure on that, but check it out. Hope this helps.

Neither should damage your ceiling really. I do have a slight outline of a ring from my x pole, but it could be painted over (note, my ceiling is flat and slightly textured like a wall.) I don't recommend putting an x pole on vinyl…it can leave an indented ring, otherwise you are fine.

Both are fairly easy to set up once you figure it out. The x pole takes a few minutes, while the lilmynx goes up in a minute. The lilmynx is easiER and quicker. The lilmynx requires one screw to go into a stud in your ceiling. Some poeple have had trouble with the screw eating up the drywall, but nymphdancer fixed that by screwing a board onto the ceiling, and screwing the mount screw through that and into a stud.

If you are serious about pole dancning, you should get a spinner pole no matter what pole company you get. Too many girls get a stationary pole then regret it becasue they want to try out spin mode.

Oh, and taking the pole down frequently will not hurt the pole.

Thanks Saphyre and sensualscimitar! I really appreciate the help and advice. I think I'll go ahead and order the X-Pole…I've seen alot of  good things about it and most people seem to like theirs alot.  I do have one more question about the x-Pole Xpert…..do I need to completely disassemble it every time? Or can I just remove the base and dome portion and leave the rest of the pole intact? (and stored behind my couch or something?) Thanks!

You can leave the pole in one piece.

Be wary on ebay. There are a lot of fake x poles on there…

btw, Veena just sent out an email saying tomorrow they will offer free shipping on x poles (for Mother's Day.)
