A Pole Poll – 45 or 50?
Posted by Rosanna Danna on April 10, 2013 at 2:09 pmI have a 50mm chrome xpole and damn is it slippery, my hands struggle to complete the moves that i know i can do on an otherwise skinnier or stickier pole. im trying to build muscle memory in my body not my hands lol! thinking about selling and buying a skinnier pole? whats ur guys' opinion??

I started with a 50 and wasn’t totally happy with it I kept thinking about selling it then I would change my mindlol finally I decided to sell it and get a 45 and it was the best decision ever. I love my 45 and now I am 100% happy with my pole

I also started on a 50mm X pole and after a year changed to a 45mm for better grip, I found everything easier on my hands and found no problem with thigh holds just squeezed a bit more. I love my 45mm and never use the 50mm now it feels far too big in my hands, lol

Don't sell your 50, just add a 45! While I am not a huge fan of 45s there are some moves that are definitely easier on it.

I love my 50!! I dance with gold 45s at my dance studio, and I like that size too. However with some dry hands or a tad bit of itac, I’m good to go. 🙂

I have a 50 mm chrome & have never been happy with it, so I plan on getting a 45 mm soon but will more than likely keep both the 45 & 50 up & learn moves on both. Why not keep your 50 & just get a 45? I think there is some great value as a poler in knowing how to pole on different diameters of poles.

Pole size is a personal preference, so what someone else likes, you may not. I hate 50s, but as you can see, some girls love them (usually taller, bigger-handed girls.) If your fingers touch around a 45, then it is a good size to use, if you still have a gap on the 45, then a 40 would be good.
