A complete list of video lessons?
Posted by ferrous on July 28, 2014 at 3:26 amI followed the link in the daily update email from a day or two ago to see the video for the crucifix.
Underneath it, as always, there were a few more videos shown as thumbnails. One of those shown was ‘the switch’, which I also watched. I then wanted to find similar videos to that one, focussing on specific areas, but I’m not really sure where to go to find them.
I wondered if perhaps it was under Home > Lessons > Beginner, but that particular one didn’t appear there.
This makes me wonder if I’m missing out on a bunch of awesome videos!
Is there a place where all the videos are listed? I don’t want to miss a thing!

The Switch is in the Conditioning videos section if that helps π I think (?) they’re grouped by body part being tortured (strengthened) so similar ones would be near it in the list. I could be wrong on that, though!

If you click on the Lessons tab you’ll see all of the sections of lessons to choose from, when you click on the section you want you’ll see all lessons in that section, just scroll though. Also as mentioned everything is placed together in muscle groups when it comes to stretching and stretch sections. Pole work is grouped by progression. Here’s a video that may help you see what functions the site has. π

Also keep in mind the Featured lessons in the daily update are random….UNLESS I’m posting new lessons, then you’ll always see the newest lessons posted.

Thank you for the replies! π
I think part of the issue is that I’ve only ever accessed the site via my mobile phone, and I guess it looks a little different from it.
Whenever I’m on my laptop I’m working, so I tend not to look at anything else.
I might have to take a few minutes to look around the site on my laptop to see if I’m missing anything.

The lesson layout is the same on the computer as it is on the phone. Really the only thing you don’t see mobility is all the Features at the top and the side banner. π

Good to know. Thanks!
Speaking of mobile versions, thank you for ensuring that mobile users have access to everything we need. So many sites don’t have mobile access, or they do, but it’s very limited, or the full version just works really ineffectively on the mobile. I rarely get time on my laptop, so being able to do my beloved StudioVeena exercises on my mobile (and be involved in discussions) is so very awesome.
The more time I spend here, the more I enjoy and appreciate it.

Thank-you for that. We work hard to make sure our site is usable on as many devices as possible. We feel its really unique among niche industry sites. It’s a lot of hard work but we know how many people just don’t get time to get in front of their computers on a daily basis any more.

Awe thank you, Mr webmaster does an amazing job. I use the site on my phone all, the, time I’m too lazy to open my computer if I’m not working lol

I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to miss things. It sometimes does feel like there are hidden gems laying around here. Every now and then someone will post a link to a video or lesson I haven’t seen… Then I think to myself “what else am I missing?!l” but usually the lesson was right where it should be I just missed it because I was skipping around. π
SV has so much to offer!

Yep! In all honesty, if I could only access the lessons on my laptop, I’d never get a chance to do the exercises.
I take my phone into the pole room, and I do my exercises there. And I often move the phone around on the floor, table, etc, to wherever I can see it better as I move into different positions.
So yeah, if it wasn’t for operating so well on mobile platforms, it would t work for me.
Thank you so much. π

Actually, related to this, I do have another question.
When I’m on a video and then go to view one of the video thumbnails featured below it, the original description remains, and the description for the new video doesn’t appear.
How can I get the description to change so I can read the info about the new one that I view?
-
We made the decision to leave the description in place because you are still technically in the original lesson and we didn’t want to create confusion.
The lessons below are lessons that exist elsewhere in the lesson section and they are linked in because they relate to or are used in the current video.

Okay. It did seem to be an intentional thing, and that reasoning makes sense.
I’m often hurrying around between the various lessons trying to fit in my workouts before my two-year-old gets bored and drags me away (or starts hampering me enough with climbing on/under me so that I can’t continue). I really need to sit down and have a proper explore around the site.
Thanks for the reply. π

Keep in mind that’s just regarding the ‘related’ lessons below where you won’t see the description change. You will see it change if you follow the next or previous buttons this is to encourage everyone to use the lessons in order. Γ°ΕΈΛΕ
