Aerial Silk or Aerial Hammok at home
I have a few questions about this now that my business is doing well I am no longer able to make it to many aerial classes. I was looking to get an aerial silks rig at home to practice but as I looked through the posts here it sounded like a bad idea.
So my first question is why is it a bad idea..does it depend on what you are using the fabrics for or is it just not something you can rig from a typical ceiling. I plan to use it for stretching and core strengthening and just keeping up my general strength so for the times i can make it to class I am actually able to learn things. I don’t plan to wrap much in the fabric at all. I did kind of want to be able to practice my foot wraps though simply because they get sloppy when I don’t attend classes on a regular basis.Which leads me to my second question aside from a few things I want to practice an aerial hammock seems to be something that would work for me if the traditional silk is simply not an option. Is this a better at home option? If so why is it a better at home option?
I don’t ever plan on doing drops they don’t even teach them at my studio and I don’t care much for complicated wraps I have been stuck in the fabric before and I no better than to try try that at home.
Is it a bad idea because of what people might do in the silks or is it just generally unsafe to rig one to a home ceiling?
