Long story short, had really bad back issues since last June, could barely sit or walk let alone pole. I ended up needing back surgery late last year to correct the worst of it. Now I am pretty well recovered but WAAAAY out of practice on my pole and silks!!

I am ready to start getting back into things, but know I need to take it a bit slow. My Studio Veena year just ended this month and wondering if it would be better to gain a bit more strength using silks (since there is a bit more support etc.) before I re-up my membership. Does anyone know of a site similar to this one more focused on silk skills?? I do take classes when I can, but can’t often go into the studio.

Any suggestions would be great!!! Thanks all!

I don’t know of any other fitness or aerial website that is like ours.

Once you’re ready to come back the 30 day take off program is perfect for those coming back from injury or those who have never exercised before. The 3 conditioning routines at the beginning of the section are good as well. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view_category/routines-pole-lessons

Thanks Veena!! I have done the 30 day take off program before, it is definitely a good start. I have already been doing a lot of the same or similar strength building conditioning for a few months, so really at the point where I am ready to step up to the next level from there.

I didn’t start silks until I was well into pole, but when I started attending some silks classes I remember thinking I should have done silks first then pole since there you have a chance to really feel the body placement at each step and can pause mid-air to correct. I have found a few sites just by googling, but figured I’d tap into the collective group here to see if anyone had tried any of them. I will definitely be doing some of the 30 day programs soon!!!
