Since we are on the topic of this, do you guys think it’s possible to get an aerial spinning V even though it’s still a struggle to get it from the ground from a standing and lifting straight up and over kind of position?
This has been my nemesis move forever and I still struggle to be able to invert and go straight into a V before locking on.
I can invert, lock on and then take my legs out into a V position and can hold but to go straight into it and hold it is so difficult for me!!

So I’m just wondering if the Spinning version may be more achievable although like Amy said, it requires more strength to do.

Juicy J – after climbing, your hands would need to be placed near the neck before inverting. When on spin, the body will need to be slightly turned to the side to maintain the spin, then bring yourself into your V..I’m sure you’ll get it soon!

I can do the forward spinning V, but how does one do the backward spinning V?! I'm sure it's the same technique but why is it soo hardddd?! I could barely make it!!

I demonstrate both a forward V invert and Backward V invert in this video. I feel it's important to keep the hands higher as you would for a regular invert, placing them too low can cause unnecessary stain on the rhomboids and shoulders. Just like your basic invert you want the pole tucked into the arm pit so you can assist with the lift by squeezing the pole between the upper torso and upper arm/arm pit area. You'll also need to have the strength to keep the body close to the pole and not allow the force of the spin to pull you way.

To work up to this move keep working on your Knee tucks, Pole Leg Lifts, switches and use strict form when inverting. Don't place the hands too low, use the arm pit to help you invert, to save your back! Good luck https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Kyrsten, thank you soooo much – I just checked out your vid….I can do a deadlift inverted V from the floor, but have been struggling with doing aerial inverted V on a spinny pole.  I will try to do it the way you showed in your vid – I'm sure that's going to help me heaps!  Thanks again 🙂
