Affordable poles
Posted by KieshaBowles on December 5, 2012 at 9:44 amMy name is Kiesha. I have never pole danced before but I really want to start learning. I'm eager to get a pole into my house so that I can start practicing, but from the research that I've done, most poles under $300 aren't very safe, and as a mother of 3 I really just don't have $300 to put out there for something like that, not all at once at least. Does anyone have any suggestions

ur better off not gettin a cheap pole ur best best for a home pole would be either the x-pole or the platinum stages pole, as all teh others may b cheaper bt wud u rather comprimise on ur safety and go cheap or save up and get a decent pole thats going to last and keep u safe while usin it. hae u checked either craigslist for a pole? if u do make sure its a genuine pole and not the fake look-a-likes. all i can suggest as i said is to save up. xx

thanks for posting that link. I had never heard of the Lil Mynx pole and that actually seems pretty reasonably priced!

You can find a used Lil Mynx typically for around $150 (and I wanty to say a little over $200 new?)
This is the safest of the lower price poles and will do you well for many many many years. Keep an eye on craigslist in your area as shipping is what will run you up on a used pole.

your welcome. i havent tried the lil mynx ive only tried x-pole and i love thm. i know that you can get the powder coated lil mynx to help with grip which is better for those that suffer grip problems.hope u get ur pole soon. also, cant u ask family to chip in for a pole for ur xmas or for money instead of gifts to help towards buying ur pole. xxx

Definitely check on your local Craigslist — I got my first pole, a Lil Mynx Rotator, for $180 from a woman an hour away from me 🙂

Yeah, I bought my LM 5 years ago for $140 on ebay and ended up selling it less than 2 years ago for $100.

A lil Mynx rotator, in Stainless steel, is their most expensive non-removable pole (and I don't know if I'd recommend their removable pole, seeing it in action…), and it's at $289.
The cheapest they have is the coloured (thus powder coated) one, stationary, at $189.
I don't think these include shipping though?
Anyways, I've got a Lil' mynx stainless steel, it doesn't rotate (yet!), and I've been using it for four and a half years. I love it, it's my baby! I've certainly gotten used to the idea of grip on this thing… I've never really danced on anything else, so… you figure it out after a bit!
I certainly find them stable, and strong. I can be pretty rough on it. The only issue I've had so far is the fact that the joists in my current place are metal, which means there's not much for the bolt to screw into and grip. However, we seem to have come up with a fix for that, for now!

A lot of people have already purchased their Christmas gifts so I didn't want to ask my family to chip in cash for Christmas to help with the purchase, but I did decide to take your advice and ask for help. I started a crowd funding page at http://www.gofundme.com/1n6l30 so that family friends, and whoever else can chip in and donate to the cause lol hope this works because I'm MORE than ready to start dancing!!!
