    Hello good people of SV!!!

I was wondering what methods did you all use  for mounting your pole to the ceiling. I have a portable 50mm static pole, connects in the 3pieces, and my ceiling is just a little over 8 feet high where i practice the most. My problem is that pole supports my weight for climbs, but if I pull to hard while doing a move(inverts and spins) I usually end up snatching the pole down.  I don't want to mount it in place using screws because I like to take the pole when i visit friends and don't want to end up witha  million holes in the ceiling.  The bad part about the ceiling here is that it has texture treatment done to it  so there are no completely smooth surfaces in the house . Anyone have any suggestions.

I hate textured ceilings! Mine has those intentional paint brush swirls all over it. Luckily, the room I'm using for the dance studio doesn't have that problem, but I would LOVE to be able to put it up in my much larger living room from time to time…

Save up some money and get a real pole.  No seriously…the pole you have is dangerous and will never be stable unless you drill it into place and then I would be extremely concerned about the seams busting on you from outward force.

I secodn what Chemmie said. You need a reliable pole with what you want to use it for. What you have is more of a prop for the bedroom. X pole, platinum stages, lilmynx or pole danzer are the options for your needs. You can find poles on craigslist sometimes for a good deal, just make sure if it says its an x pole, make sure it is a real one cuz tehre are fakes out there.

I 3rd what Chemgoddess says!!!!  I started on that pole… it has now inherited the nick name Suicide Pole.  After recieving my XPole I was astonished at the security and quality that was provided.  It's not that much when you consider the doctor bills from falls for having a cheaper pole, which I personally have encountered.

I 4th what Chem said. I have a popcorn ceiling and other than the fact that it was a bitch to find the stud in the ceiling, my pole has been working great on my ceiling.

Can one 5th an idea? If so, I do. X-poles aren’t very expensive if you consider the safety and convenience. Its hard to learn tricks properly if you are scared your pole is going to fall down, worse yet, if it does fall and you actually get hurt. Watch the forum here, people sell them fairly frequently.
