  • Angry Shoulders– Any advice?

    Hi There,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about shoulder injuries and how to recover from them. A month ago, while attempting a standard invert, I pulled muscles in both shoulders during the dismount. One shoulder healed right away, the other is still soar, tight and with specific movements, there is actual pain. Nothing is broken, I can still lift things and have full range of motion, but I can’t do any tricks on my right side without aggravating the injury. Has this ever happened to anyone before?? If so, what was your treatment plan and recovery time?

    Thx.

I was 5 months recovering from a rotary cuff injury. It was severe though and I had very limited movement. I couldn’t weight train, swim or pole. Even drying my hair, getting undressed and driving were super painful. It’s only getting back to normal now.
I had a combo of rest, Physio and anti inflams.
It was tough, but had to be done.
    Good luck.

When my shoulders act up I get in to see a massage therapist that specializes in deep tissue. Since I have been poling I have tried to get in at minimum every 6 weeks. My shoulders get so kinked up it is the only way I have any relief. You will find that many polers either get in for massage or chiro treatments routinely.

Massage is such a great thing and can be super helpful! When dealing with an injury, be sure that anytime you begin a work out you’ve warmed up a lot! in addition to that, it might be helpful to foam roll or use a tennis ball on the muscles around the shoulder. Don’t forget to stretch and strengthen!!! If you don’t see improvement see a DR.
