Annemarie Davies Floor spin
Hey ladies,
Havent been here in a while! I've been working on the floor spin AmDavies does at the beginning of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMhrIO9HYQk
And I cannot get it for the life of me! I can't figure out the momentum at all… any of you ladies have any tips? It's driving me nuts because it looks so simple! :p

Wow, she’s an amazing dancer! It looks a bit like Veena’s fan kick but done on her back, one leg is following the other & I think she does a small push with her hand as well to get it started.

I saw a Tantra Fitness tutorial with Tammy Morris on this floor spin: The momentum comes from the bottom leg and not the top leg.
You get the top leg out of the way as you see in AM's vid at 2:56. Then you push off with the hand and swing the bottom leg which gives you the spin power. Also Tammy says you are spinning on your back kind of where your bra strap is your bottom is comming off of the floor.

I went to a train and play with Alethea Austin and she showed us that move! I can’t do it (bruises my spine) but she recommended wearing a shirt to help with spinning! If that helps any!

It is a standard break dancing move. I would suggest looking up break dancing backspin. If you search windmill you will get the one where you pop off your shoulder and that is not what you want.

Thanks for the links Chemgoddess! I looked up that Tantra Tutorial, but I think I had to pay for it. But I'm going to try you guys' tips and see how it goes! Thank you all again!
