  • Any advice on ceiling height for pole/aerial hoop??? Please help!

I'm building a garage (which will also serve as my 'studio') in a few weeks. My husband and I are trying to finalize all the details… I'm torn over ceiling height though! Right now we have two options: 10 ft. 8 inches or 12 ft' 8 inches. Obviously, I want the 12ft+! The higher, the better! We obviously would like to spend less money though, meaning the 10ft8in. would be the way to go.

I think 10ft+ would be more than enough for the pole… but should I just go all out? I don't want to build the garage and then regret not having the ceilings higher. Also, does anyone have a clue if 10ft8in would be enough height for an aerial hoop?  I REALLY want one but I have no idea what kind of height is needed and my research hasn't proved very helpful. It seems that 10ft ceilings would work but I don't know how well.

I'd appreciate any advice!! Thanks 🙂

for a hoop, ideally you would want to be able to hang from the bottom of it, with a mat underneath, just barely touching your toes on the ground, so that you can work the bottom of it, spinning mounts, etc. personally, i would say ideal is about 7 feet underneath and at least 3 feet above so you can work the top without catching your feet on the ceiling– so assuming a 3' hoop, 13 feet. if you have a double point lyra, you'll want more room on top so you can sit on it and work the ropes.

i would love a 13' pole in my garage! =) make sure you heat it really well!!

Tall ceilings help, single hanging point hoops hang higher as well.

You can get them here http://aerialempowerment.com/aerial-store.html

    Good luck to ya
