I am very very new to poling……like just got a pole 2 weeks ago and never had a class new. I am so eager to learn my new obsession. I actually didnt realize poling was this popular until I was searching you tube and came accross a plus size poler and was hooked from then on.

Any suggestions, thoughts or words of encouragement you have someone who is just beginning?

    First of all…WELCOME!!!

This is not an easy sport but it is so fulfilling.  You will learn so much about yourself when you start to play with your dance and movement of your body through space.  Be gentle with yourself and realize that everyone progresses at a different rate.  There are things that will come easy and things you will think "I will NEVER get that".  You will have weeks or months when you think you are stagnant….use those to work on your flow.  Above all else, don't be so rushed to get that next move.  Learn the proper ways to get into and out of moves and don't do anything to hurt yourself.  The pay off is great.  On top of that this is an awesome community.  You could not have found a more loving place where people accept you as you are and don't judge.

    Hi!

I have only recently found studioveena  myself. What a great community this is!!
I have completed 5 levels of Pole clases (about a year), and have bought my own pole. I am planing to train on my own for a while, since the classes are quite expensive and I know I need to build up more strength before I can advance to the next level.

I love how there's so much advice out there, its not just showing off, but helping each other achieve these tricks in a safe way. You will definitely have lots of fun!

Thanks to my Pole Sensei, Dakota, I found SVeena! So glad she told me about it.

I think it is very important to have a sense of community. I have been poling on and off for about 1 year and a half, I absolutely adore it. My only advice is to keep an open mind, don't put too much pressure on yourself, specifically to be like anyone else.

Your pole journey, style, dance, strengths and weaknessess are your own, accept them – love them! Move at YOUR speed, not anyone elses. I think that is the great thing about Poling, everyone has a chance to be absolutely unique.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks…..I watch the videos and are so motivated! I know it took them time to get there so I know it will also be a journey for me as well.
