  • Any recommendations for thin, thigh high legwarmers?

Posted by catmoves2718 on October 1, 2015 at 5:39 pm

I am looking for relatively thin, thigh high legwarmers–I’m not looking to keep my legs warm so much as be able to slide while doing floor work. I’d like to find some with relatively roomy thighs, as I am a US size 10 or 12. Does anyone have any recommendations? I apologize if this has already been answered, I’ve read through some of the old discussions about legwarmers, but didn’t see anything on this specifically.

I have cut the legs off of leggings to make thigh highs. I had to add elastic to the top to keep them up, but they are super cute.

I love the ones they have at American Apparel, they stay up and are soft.

So I have just the thing, check out the ones from sockdreams.com

They have a huge assortment of different kinds, most pole sites also have different kinds.

    discountdance.com also has some

Phoenix Kazree, that’s a really good idea! Sadly, I think it’s beyond my sewing ability. I might be able to find someone else to do it though.

Perhaps I should clarify, I know where I can buy legwarmers. What I do not know when I purchase them online is how thick they are, and in many cases it’s not clear how big the thighs are (although some websites do provide some information and other threads have addressed that issue). I really want *thin* legwarmers, but unless the description says something like “cable knit” I don’t really know how thick they are. Are they thick like gym socks? Are they thin like trouser socks? That is why I was looking for specific recommendations of a model/style that is thin. I have a nice pair of thick, thigh high legwarmers that I love, but they get hot and can be a little bulky if I want to slide them down to get thigh grip, so I am trying to find something thinner.

there was a girl on facebook in the ‘polefreaks’ group who posted recently about starting to make this sort of thing; very thin, light fabric, over the knee in a variety of patterns. i think her name might have been laura lovell, i had a look in the group but couldn’t find the post… i will ask about them and see if anyone remembers =D

Yes her name is definitely Laura Lovell on the polefreaks group , in her profile pic she is wearing a greyish top black bead necklace and has her hands up in her hair almost like a pin-up pose =)
i haven’t been able to find out if she is selling them yet i couldn’t tag her in my post, but i will keep an eye out for any news =)
