As you all know, a week or so ago I was completely NERVOUS and ANXIOUS about an upcoming audition at a new club down herehttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif. I called the club and left a message because I was SO consumed with the thought of messing up, that I almost couldn't focus during Manny's "Climb & Invert" class. Also, Manny was so sweet for adding two extra classes to my package for free so we could better work on my weak points, so I got 12 instead of 10. I got a return call from Antonio the hiring manager and he went into further detail about how much longer they'd be auditioning as well as body type and pole dance/entertainer experience. Now its been almost three years since I last worked at a club and hadn't practiced for six months, so jumping back in HAS been a bit of a challenge and thus made me even more Nervous. I'm glad to report that the manager said we don't have to have any previous pole experience as they will have a pole dance instructor on staff that will be working with us to teach us everything we need to know (PHEW). Also, he says I need not worry about my stretch marks (they were my BIGGEST concernhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif) because they can be easily covered with make up. Lastly, he said when they get near to the grand opening, they'll post to their FB page when auditions will end. I'm definitely relieved…I was worried I'd look like a fool fumbling around cuz sometimes once the music starts…..I'M LOST!!! I can now breath a sigh of relief and go back to REALLY focusinghttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif. One more thing Veeners, which costume should I get for the audition cuz I'm torn between two?

It’s super cool that they offer pole training that is rare in clubs nowadays. Also about the stretch marks, girl the lights will be dim & I’ve seen wonders that exotic dancers can do with make up & stuff. You’ll learn all the cosmetic & clothing tricks of the trade quickly. It’s all smoke & mirrors 😉

I like the second outfit 🙂

Both outfits are super hot but if you’re worried about your stretch marks I would go with the second one. I think it has more coverage in that area. 🙂

@Cali-I was surprised by the on-staff pole teacher too. Most clubs down here feel if you don't have a big A** then you better know some tricks. Problem is the other dancers aren't gonna wanna teach you anything that might take away their regulars.

@DustBunny-I figured the second would be the better choice, just to be on the safe side. I plan to get that one first and the the others I saw after I find out wether I've been hired or not. All the coustume on this chicks site made me DROOL LOLhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Both outfits are cute – but when deciding what to wear you might want to think about how much they ask you to take off during the audition and how long do you have to do it?  If the audition is one song (which is really common) and you have to end up as naked as the club allows well before the end of the song (which is also really common) less is better.  Less straps, less clasps, less everything.  Also, for an audition you want a outfit that is easy to put back on. You may have to put all or part of it back on at the stage, while management is talking to you.  Or, if they're auditioning a lot of girls at once and don't have a ton of time you may only get half the outfit off before they decide they've seen enough to know they want to hire you.  So pick something that looks good half off.

So, since they're both awesome, I would probably go with the first outfit for practical reasons.  I think that taking the second one off could have more potential problems (bra clasps catching on the side of the leotard, straps getting tangled in each other) it would be harder to just pull the second one back on fast if you needed to,  and the first one will look better if you only get the top off.

Also, do yourself a favor and, no matter what costume you get, do get a real stripper thong.  Someplace like Snaz75.com  carries them and they're worth it.  The wider backed ones (where it looks like a strip of fabric up the back instead of a string) are really common in most clubs right now.  They're waaaay more comfortable and they don't have the tendency to slide around that thongs from places like Target do.

Ok…. that was way long winded.  But I've seen too many new and newish girls have costume problems during auditions and I don't want it happening to you!

Thank Darcit, I hadn't thought about that…the first one would be faster as I'm wearing knee-high boots and they might get caught in the mesh back of the second one. I can use all the advice I can from you ladies…I had a not-so-good audition 2 years ago…the costume was kinda adolescent and was lace so my heels snagged part of it. I'd go MAD if that happens again lol
