Just saw more posts to the Facebook thread with similar concerns. Looks like the person who provided the name just did a google search with an image off the scam site. So not too reliable.
Maybe a better route would be via the site host: http://www.hostgator.com -

Philip picked up my post from earlier seeking information about this person. I will have to go back and look to see what has been sleuthed. I tried doing a whois on this site and it came back blocked. I think someone went so far as to try to purchase through paypal and get an email address that way.

Actually Jen Butson is the name of a person who probably had their photo stolen along with everything else on this site. LizzyLiz did an image search and found this website: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/4/prweb9359989.htm
I am sure this woman has no idea her picture is being used.

Maybe if everyone complains to the web host it might have an effect. I could swear I read that was a method used in a seperate situation where content was being stolen and placed on a site. However I'm not sure if it has to be the content owners themselves who need to complain or if people being scammed would be enough. Either way it never hurts to try the host might take numerous complaints into consideration since it is a definite scam. They might not want their business associated with whoever is defrauding people.

I believe that many of the people who have images/videos stolen have been contacted and will be contacting the host site.

The nerve of some people! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif
I hope he/she gets his/her just desserts.

I think its funny how the 3 pictures of “her” look nothing alike and are clearly 3 different girls! And clearly no one has ever seen her perform or teach, so I doubt InStyle is giving her awards lol. InStyle should give studioveena an award 🙂

I guess this person whoever she is couldn't have expected this "business" to last for long, considering the fact that the example lessons are vids that almost any of us have already seen on YT…. not to smart.

would it be wise to suggest making your youtube videos “not embeddable”?? would that keep innocent polers videos from being stolen? when i had a youtube, my videos were not able to be embedded. but maybe there a way to still steal them? idk
-
There are ways to rip video off youtube. So basically, if you put something up on youtube, there is likely a way for someone else to pull it off youtube and do whatever with it, no matter whether you set it as embeddable or not. I suppose watermarking your video would be the best option if you wanted to keep your name associated with your video.

Another red flag is that she says she runs a studio, but the studio is not listed…
This is another red flag: "Pole dancing is amazingly easy for beginners given the right training"
Also, the affiliates earnings are almost as much as the "course" itself, so that's weird.

My red flag would have been the 3 DIFFERENT women in the YOU TUBE videos. Geesh! Hopefully she gets shut down soon. Elle could have made a better web sight. ( my cat)

Wow, I had no idea how much of an impact this discussion would have. You ladies are so supportive and I appreciate your shared concern, I really do. Luckily the payment hadn't gone through yet, so I was able to stop the money leaving my account. But all the dust you have all been kicking up has had a MAJOR impact. It looks like "Miss Amber Starr" has taken down her google + profile and no longer uses the picture (of who knows who) in her ezine articles. I also noticed that when you do a search for her this discussion thread comes up in the results!!!
Although I would really like to find out who this con artist is, I feel a great deal of comfort knowing that even if we never find out at least us talking about it will hopefully save another person from falling into the "Amber Starr" trap. I also agree that the owners of the YouTube videos (and that picture) should be informed. I doubt they would be happy about someone profiting from all their hard work.

This is no different than the internet dating sites where people "catfish". It's just now made it to the pole world. Most likely it's someone in a foreign country using the internet again for another scam.
