    Hey everyone!
Just wondering… how do I know if I’m doing my back flexibility correctly? I don’t seem to be seeing any progress at all, and I’m really not sure what else to do. My hip flexors are fairly flexible (and I’m working on them pretty consistently), and my spin has always been good at doing it’s job, but… I’m never sure if I’m doing the flexibility thing for it correctly?
The challenges of workout out alone, I suppose.
Mostly, the only back flexibility move I use is a cobra stretch. I try to really sink into it, and let my back bend forward as much as I can, while not moving my hips or shoulders. I also try to do the bow stretch (where you grab your ankles, and lift everything up), but… it’s been a hard one for me because of the strength. It’s getting easier, though.
Is there anything else I can do? How do I know if I’m doing it correctly? Is there something I should be looking for while stretching my back.

Also, I do opposing-direction stretches (as in, bending forward) immediately after. I’m very clear about that one. I try to be cognizant of my back-health.

Thank you! I’m always doing lots of stretches for the rest of my body (splits, arms, shoulders, hips, calves…), but that was the only one for my actual back. I’m pretty adamant about doing my core strength exercises, too, and I’m very aware of pushing myself too far in a stretch… I’ve done it before (not with my back) and it SUCKED. Never again.
    Forgive me but… what’s a “dh”?

Also, that video… is way too advanced for me! I don’t quite have the flexibility for a full bridge yet, let alone something like a scorpion. I’m still working on my chest/elbow/shoulder/hand stands, too. They kind of freak me out.
This is often what I find. Even with Veena’s back flexibility routine, some of them are just impossible for me, because I can’t put my leg all the way back behind me, yet!
I’m going to review some more stretches, though. I suppose it makes sense that I would have more stretches for my back, just like I have more for my hips and legs.

No insult taken! 🙂 And I tend to miss some internet slang! lol
    Thank you 🙂

Like you said, that video is very advanced.

Besides the cobra, do camel and kitty stretches. The later one is sometimes called wall-stretch and mainly for shoulders and upper back but you’ll need it if you want to do a wheel/bridge.

    I also don’t know what a dh is! 🙂
