Ive recently begun practicing the silks, Ive been poling for 3 years off and on. I used to try to practice pole every other day but now I need to practice silks as well. Heres the question. Should I practice pole one week and silks the other? Two days pole and two days silks? Switch between the two: pole silks pole silks? What do you think would be best?

Hi, I teach pole during the week a few hours and also Polesilks (silks attached to the pole) and I do like the mix training of the two. I find that using my hands on the silks helps my shoulders and back become stronger which helps me on the pole!

I tend to alternate between pole and silks. I don’t necessarily skip a day in between, but I’ve been doing silks for over four years.

Ibwould say keeping a day of rest between is generally a good idea. You could do back to back sessions but I wouldn’t suggest doing that too often. Listen to your body, if your forearms and hands start to become painful then it’s time to back off a bit. 💜
