I just had a workshop w Becca Butcher last night.. almost didnt go because I thought it would be too advanced for me. So glad I did! Here is a link to her ca 2011 performance- she taught us a few moves in here last night. at 2:24 starting w the cupid- 2:50, then a weird arm wrap fan kick thingy into an outside leg grap- at  3:50 she puts her hands into position-  but you cant see it very good due to the camera angle (she did it in the workshop to a holly drop, but not here) . At 3:20 she taught us that true cup grip flip thingy.  (couldnt do that w out a spotter) SHe aso taught us a really cool cradle  to apprentice split thingy where we switched our shoulders to the other side of the pole – I havent found a video of this yet. It was amazing!! I am definitley gonna order the valentino brothers back dvd today. She said she is working on a new move called, the"butcher" which requires back felxibility. She didnt show us- but it is coming! Cant wait to see that too. I ove new / weird pole tricks! Here is her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6yr4TSd3CY

I was at this comp. AMAZING! My husband and I were sitting next to the judges. Becca Butcher moves like an angel. i was too shy to say anything to her, even though I was only 4 feet away.

@pegasus- You are so lucky! She was soo sweet. She said she satrted 3-4 years ago just like us- went to a classs and got hooked! She does move like an angel. She is so lean, petite and strong!

@Michelel H- You will LOVE the workshops. I am sure she will show you some of these moves she did us as well. It looks so scary and advanced in her video- but she breaks down so easily. Not only is she gifted as a  poler, but as a teacher as well. She was so encouraging and genuinley excoted for us.

I know I realy missed out by not being able to do workshops while they all were out. Oh well, next year hopefully. Can't wait to hear all about it. I would love to know more about the silks too. You are so lucky!

I can't wait to see what she teaches us each day. Luckily they're on different days so I won't be too tired!

I just found this link on youtube of someone demonstarting her moves she teaches in her workshops from some of her recent performances. This is some of what she will teach you:

Oh my gosh! Becca is not only an amazing person but she is a great teacher! She has such energy, great ficus on safety, handson spotting and fantastic verbal skills in explaining body positioning!

I was with 2 other girls that are very strong, so I worked on getting handspring and brass monkey while they worked on twisted grip, cup grip and brass monkey from a sit. Then we did her signatur move, the Flare, and a one handed reverse grab spin where you kick your legs high into a fan kick. Busy session!

Then on Sunday we did a silks workshop! I’m exhausted today!
