Hi guys, I am a beginner Poler, and just got my first pole, an X-Pole 50mm chrome finish. I am also new to Houston, Texas which is very hot and humid. Due to super high ceilings in my house, I am forced to put my pole in the garage, which is a bit miserable with the heat and humidity. Practicing is very difficult due to the fact that I am slipping all over that pole! Any recommendations for the best type of poles for this environment? Brass, powder-coated?? I still want to be able to spin and grip, but right now I am a hot mess (literally) on that pole. Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

    Hi there!
I live in a pretty humid climate, and find that my powder coated pole is doing a great job πŸ˜‰ Though, during the summer, stickiness is something of an issue. I’ve come off the pole with burnin’ skin before! I have not, however, had a single issue with grip once the pole is warm, even during the winter!
I’ve also heard great things about brass, and I’m sure some of the other ladies can weigh in with their own experiences!

I can use any finish in humid conditions, however if I sweat, brass has been best. I have every finish πŸ™‚ I don’t sweat often but there are times I do and brass has been best!

I say any finish or diameter pole is workable so don’t stress too much about it πŸ™‚ My favs are 40mm and Brass or Powder coated.
