Hello everyone. I have been poling off and on 5 years +, but not able to go to a studio or practice frequently hurting my progress. A car accident and back injury set me back. Now I want to take classes again. My fav. studio closed, and not sure where I fit in at the new studio or in lessons. I feel too advanced for the beg. class and not sure if Im ready for all the class intermediate stuff. Where do I fit in ? Previously I could do some intermediate spins, invert and climb, lost it all : (. should I look into privates? Please advise.

The instructor would be able to tell you which class to go in. Just communicate prior to signing up. You’ll probably be the best beginner student or a not so good intermediate 🙂

As katana suggested, I would just talk with the instructors there, they may have some insight for you. If you have been away form pole for a while starting at the beginning is a good idea, to build up strength. If you have a home pole there are always the lessons here as well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

It depends on their system – ask them what you will learn in beginner classes – not every studio has a super basic beginner program – some of them are rather tough and do include cradles, inverts and climbs.

If I were you – I'd tell them all of this – like has already been suggested and take a couple beginner classes and see how you feel – because it might just be good to work on polishing your basics and work on transitions while your body adjusts back to pole 🙂  There's always new things to learn at the beginner level – even if they are simple and you can do them easily – then you can perhaps work on combinations 🙂
