Is it the move in the middle of that video?
And also, for those of us who are confused when you click the link- when you click it, go to the URL bar and take out the "m." before "youtube.com" and you'll be able to see it on your computer. The "m." means it's mobile youtube, and it doesn't seem to want to work well for computer.

I believe she is and I would call it a tornado. 🙂 Have you attempted it? I mean is there a particular part you are having trouble with? It is a fun move!

PA, we need to sv chat pole jam on this one. Skittles taught it at a workshop I went to while back, but haven't had the nerve to try it yet. Jade, I'm with you, let's get started! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Here is video of Skittles doing brass monkey flip after seeing Jenyne also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlraQrxSPyQ&list=PLF2D5613C69A70597&index=2&feature=plpp_video

Hooked, I tried it yesterday at TG with Doug spotting me. I know I am totally doing something ( or everything) wrong. I kept wanting to hook the foot on my extended for security and to lift myself up. I saw Skittles video and man, she makes it look so easy!

So are you trying to hook and lift the way Philip Deal showed us and others do it? I hope since I have the habit of getting out of brass monkey that way I also don't try to do that LOL I tried to get into position once and that's as far as I got haha

https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/5070ddf5-4c04-4a25-be8f-06e50ac37250 I do it at 2:07 in this video. I am not pro like skittles so maybe it will be easier to see. Hooked I would love to jam with you chat or skype. We can def work on this and much more!

Lol! Its mad scary to flip!! I didn’t see Phillip Deal, but I know that yesterday as I was attempting it I kept hooking my foot the way Veena shows how to get out of the brass monkey in the lessons. I don’t know, maybe it’s just habit, or maybe because I’m too chicken not to hook my foot! I was getting into brass monkey from the tumble, and attempting it from there. I had the mat down and Doug was spotting me and it was still super scary!

Hi Jade S, it's also called a Tornedo, I've been meaning to add this to the title to the link you posted. When I first learnt this trick I asked someone to help push me up so I got an idea of how it would feel. Firstly, you'll need good grip behind your knee. Once you have this, you will use your other leg as your 'pendulum'. Essentially the swing of your other leg (the straight one) will propel you or push you up. At the same time you swing your leg down, you push your body up and away from the pole. You do this with your hands. It's a push and swinging motion.
It's quite scary at first, but super cool. I'll give this trick a go tonight and let you know if I have any other tips.
Let me know if you'd like the trick slowed down for you and I'll either email it to you, or upload it on my youTube channel. Thx SonicXplosion xx

Thanks Sonic! I will try having someone push me up when I try this next time. Any other tips/video you have would be greatly appreciated!! 🙂

Jade S, I've just remembered a great clip of the Brass Monkey Flip/Tornedo Roll.
It's under Level 5 of the Pole Dance Community Syllabus at the link below.
When you get to the page, double click the online syllabus and then click Level 5. Scroll down to Tornedo Roll and you'll be able to slow it down, and super slow motion too.

Good luck xx

my vid is from awhile back, i LOVE this move, PA is right, its called the Tornado. also do it in my 1 yr. anniversary vid!
my tip is to NOT HESITATE once you start. make sure your knee hold is very secure and go for it, quickly! that is my take on it anyways

Omg Rixi, you’re a machine! I can’t believe you let go with both your hands! I noticed that I’m leaving my bottom arm on the pole until I flip, but noticed everyone else seems to have it extended off the pole. Maybe that will help my momentum to get all the way around. Tanks for the tips and the video. I’m going to keep working on this!! Xoxo
