OOPS! Should have asked my question BEFORE hitting the enter button…. Does anyone have a good way of cleaning your brass pole? The stuff I'm using leaves a residue on the pole. My pole LOOKS clean, but when I use it, the powdery stuff comes off onto my hands. Maybe I'm using the wrong stuff… Any suggestions???

You should Brasso it once in a while – otherwise using a high % rubbing alcohol does the trick.
Hope this helps :o)

Ive had my brass spinny for over a year now and methylated spirits works like a charm. Bobbi's pole studio also uses metho on their brass poles. So its definitely the right stuff for it. You can dilute it with water in a spray bottle and then rub the pole down with it, I just pour a little metho straight onto a small towel and rub it over the pole. 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions Ladies! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifI was considering giving up my brass pole and going with a TG Xpole.

I have a TG X pole and find that it becomes slippery if I use alchol….any suggestions for that?

I have the same pole, Sam…try a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution. That is what I use.

I too have problems using my pole. after coming home last night from my Pole lesson I tried the new things I had learned that night.. my pole is ridic to use, I give up. its so bad I just cant use it..
so slippery.. honestly it stops me using me.. you say Alcohol rubbing, what is that exactly. forgive my blonde moment here… thx

Thanks I will try the 50/50 vinegar solution tonight and let you know how it does 🙂

I saw on another thread here that you shouldn't use vinegar on TG poles… something about chemical reaction would damage the coating. But vinegar is good to use on brass poles, it helps get rid of the tarnish.

Heres the thread with the info…

Sues — is your pole warmed up when you try using it ? what's it made of ? sometimes the warmer the pole (chrome, stainless), the better the grip….

Ok…so I tried the 50\50 vinegar mix on the tg pole last night and it didn’t work for me 🙁
