When I do a bridge, I get this feeling in my lower back that is hard to describe, but is almost like a “weakness,” if that makes sense. Then I feel the blood start rushing from my head and I have to come down from the position because I feel like I’m going to faint. The fainting sensation is directly related to the weird back sensation, not because my head is upside down. There is no pain…just this weird sensation and the light headedness. I can’t practice improving my bridges because of this. Is this unusual?

Do you get nauseous after? Does your heart pound after?

No, I don’t get nauseous and my heart doesn’t pound. All the blood just rushes from my head.

Are you holding your breath? Also, a bridge does require a ton of effort when you’re first learning, so it could just be the amount of effort you’re putting into it. Do you get the same sensation when doing camel or other back bending poses?

Hi Veena, no it doesn’t happen when I do other back bending poses, just the bridge. I’m not sure if I’m holding my breath. I’ll have to take note the next time I do it.
