    Hi all,
Has anyone broken their coccyx? How long does it take to heal/not feel pain? I fell off the pole in March onto a crash mat but landed really hard.9 months later and I still feel it every now and then. Doesn’t help that I have osteopenia. Any time my butt touches the pole I am in pain. Sitting in a chair is fine, unless it is a soft cushion. The other thing I noticed is that it is rather tender after any exercising so it is almost like muscle movement is putting more pressure on the area. Googled the operation you can have to remove bones but sorry … that is an option I will not consider.

I have not had anything similar happen to me, but Google coccydynia and see if that has any info for you. I do a little medical transcription for a spine surgeon and he did an injection of some sort for a patient with this diagnosis.

Probably best to talk to a doctor about it! As much as we might not thing the coccyx bone is particularly useful for things, it can (as you’ve found) be extremely painful.
If you did talk to a doctor about it, did they give you a timeframe? Any follow-up appointments? Have they checked you out since, so that you know the bone had healed?
I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve had such a long time in healing, and I hope that it gets figured out, and you find a way to heal quickly! Either that, or perhaps, for a while, certain pole moves would be best avoided till you’re completely healed.
