    Hey guys,
So as some of you know, I got my elbow(forearm) stand yesterday. It wasn’t painful yesterday when I was doing the elbow stands, but today I noticed that my forearm (closest to the elbow) was bruised on both arms.
I did the elbow stands on hardwood floors. I am wondering if I should do my elbow stands on a mat? Or is this pretty typical for elbow stands?
    Thanks for reading.

Dear Milla, when I try elbow stands I always place a yoga mat on the floor where my elbow will go. I have a marble floor so it is hard (and cold!), so I find a mat helps a lot. Hope this helps. Ciao!

I’ve always used a mat, which will not give you bruises but possibly wounds instead at the same spots. But if you keep doing it (when the wounds have healed) it will get better and better and finally the skin will be built up enough not to be wounded anymore. That’s at least my experience.

Lol, Polekat, I’ve been saying the same thing. I will probably use a yoga mat from here on out, bruising the elbows, sucks!!!
