Okkaay. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Having a bit (well a lot) of trouble with my CAR. I tip my legs up first as lovely veena suggests. But what happens is the pole ends up resting on my right knee (I"m not sure whether this is right) and more often than not, the grip in between my thighs doesnt feel strong enough I end up sliding down, scraping my right knee all the way down. Now this is so painful I’m too scared to even attempt it many more times, I have a massive beautiful bruise on my right knee. Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? I can’t post a vid because my cameras broken but on my second to last vids the one titled "pole moves from the last few months" shows me going into CAR but not letting go, and also shows me painfully sliding down. Do I just need to thigh grip more?

The CAR took me forever to get because the grip for me on this one is so much farther down than on the CKR. My ending grip is right before the boney part of my knee and there is also a lot more of the pole to skin contact as the "back" of the pole is up to the thickest part of my thigh/hamstring. For me that is a good 7-8" of pole surface that prevents me from sliding.

In the beginning of learning CAR, I remember I had to squeeze my both my legs and butt really really tight to get it to work. For a period of time, my tail bone would hurt from leaning against the pole so much, but then the pain wears off as your thigh muscle get stronger so I don’t need to lean against too close. The point of contact should be the inner thigh muscle the part is right above your knees. Keep trying, you’ll get it!

It took me forever to get this one, too!! I found that clenching my butt cheeks really helped! Also try to "roll" your thighs inward. Good luck!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Ah, you won’t need luck, you’ll get it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Halfjack, I’m working up to this move, too! I’m just having troubles being comfortable upside down, and being up too high on the pole…so my cross knee release is getting better https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

    Hi Peeps!

I’m soooo struggling with this one, think I’m having real upside-down issues https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I think the strength in my legs is there initially but as soon as I lean back (sort of dentist-chair too far back) I get really nervous and lose it,

I get a really sore tail-bone doing this aswell!!

Any tips would be much appreciated, should be signing up to SV’s classes real soon, xx

I agree with poleophile! I was scared to death of this move until I learned the trick of clenching the booty cheeks and rolling the thighs inwards.
