PolemistCutting calluses. I teach A LOT of pole and feel I’m left with no choice but to cut my calluses every 1-2 mo. Due to the pain they cause anyone else pass the “shaving” stages?? Am I doing myself more harm then good?

You are doing harm. The callous is there for protection, when you cut it off you are shocking your body and it thinks there is no skin there so it’ll rebuild the callous bigger and thicker. This is what I learned when going to school for nails. It’s why we file them instead of cutting.

I used to get lots of calluses when I did gymnastics a million years ago (from the bars). When they got too big then eventually tore off, which was pretty painful and a bloody mess. After that I filed them down with a pumice stone type thing, just like you would calluses on your feet. I haven’t gotten any from pole but that’s how I would treat them if I did.
