So far I’ve been doing all my videos just with my digital camera – a Sony CyberShot (DSC-S650 – cheapest version of the CyberShot there is). I love Sony products and haven’t had a problem with any of them; in fact my laptop is a Sony Vaio. However, this camera hasn’t been acting right lately.

Whenever I turn it on, the screen will flash on then go black. The display stuff (like the battery meter, etc.) will still be showing, but what the camera is viewing is black. If I turn it on and off several times in a row, take the batteries in and out, etc. it did eventually work right, but the last few days since I posted my last couple videos I can’t get it to work at all. I tried taking pics with it just to see if the image was still being done but the screen was malfunctioning, but the pics are black, too. It does this no matter what mode the camera is in, picture or movie. I got it to barely work for a few minutes today, but the pictures came out very dark even though every light in the room was on (tried changing the light and brightness settings, too). I even tried cleaning off the lens from the outside but there’s nothing on it!

I doubt anyone knows a lot about these things but I thought it was worth a shot… I may just have to break down and get a new camera. I got it for my birthday 2 years ago! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif My birthday is next month and can ask for a new one, I guess, but that means the May Challenge will be done on my webcam and that means sucky quality. Any help or references to a good digital camera would be appreciated. Thanks!
