  • Can one person install a pole?

I am interested in buying my own pole, particularly an X-Pole Sport Pole. But when I have looked up for how to install a pole, if it will damage ceilings, etc., some sites say to have two people help install the pole. The thing is, no one knows that I pole dance. I do it for fitness in classes about 50 miles from where I live, and I don’t want anyone to know I have one at home. Is it safe to install a pole at home by yourself? Has anyone tried it with much success?

You should have no problem. Really tall poles are nice to have 2 people but if you are talking the average 8-10 ft pole you should have no issues.

Thanks for the advice. And to chemgoddess1, my ceiling is at 8 feet, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Now all I have to do is save up some money for a pole.

Somewhere I heard that the recommendation to have two people install was more of a liability/CYA issue. You don’t need two people.

We recently set our X-perts up on 12 foot ceilings and though it was great to have help it would have been possible to do it myself but then again, I set these poles up dozens of times each week at our studio so I’m very comfortable with the mechanics of putting it up.

I do my upgraded X-pole all the time. I can’t leave it up, so I take it up and down a lot. It requires a little coordination to hang on to some of the pole sections when screwing it together, but especially if your pole is 8 feet you should be fin by yourself.

I’m 5′ 2 1/2" and I have only ever put my x-pole up and down on my own, it is a bit fiddly and I talk to myself the whole time but you can do it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have an xpole and my ceiling is 8 feet. I install it and take it down myself. I read the instructions about 20 times to be extra sure I was doing it the way they recommend.
