Canadian competitions?

This thread has gotten a touch off topic. If it could be reigned in to a polite discussion of Canadian competitions rather than a back and forth argument it would be greatly appreciated.
I would also encourage people to be careful with one of the topics here. The law of trademark rules worldwide, there is no disputing it unless you have prior art showing that you used a name or concept first.

I don't think it's even necessary to question if a winning pole competitor should have their crown taken away just because they won't be there that day because they are competing else ware. It wasn't a rule. And I just feel strongly as a Canadian that we should support our Canadian Pole Athletes in what ever competition they are in. 🙂

@Tovah, I mostly got offended with your comments about the competitors. I do not care that you have an opinion honestly. But I do not feel you need to publicly post rude comments.

Were there any plans or thoughts by someone organizing an event In Qc/Montreal/Ottawa area?
It is true that it would be great to have East coast and west coast competitions.

holy wow that opened a pandora's box didn't it? So I have a student at my studio that is totally and utterly fantastic. I gave the basics of poling and she ran away with it and is now totally out of my realm of teaching. unfortunately we are a small studio in a small town in the Ottawa Valley. I would really love to get her into competitions and when I mentioned it to her she got quite excited. Do we know if there is anything coming up …. and not just competitions but showcases maybe montreal/ottawa/toronto area??? I am curious to know how the one in Toronto made out it was held a couple of weeks ago.
If there is interest out there and committe being pulled together I would love to be apart of that. I love pole dancing and what it does for women today. I am great at organizing events

I could swear I remember Phoenix Kazree posting that she had competed in Montreal for a battle of the pole or something along those lines but I couldn't find the thread so I'm not sure if I have that mixed up.

The battle of the Pole happened in Montreal in July. Phoenix did compete. From what I understand, this year was the first year they tried it, and I'm not sure whether they will be doing it again.
I second talking to Piglet about Showcases in the Toronto area. I had heard talk of another being possible in the spring but not sure if it's gotten past the talk stage.
The one that we just had was a great success! I think all the performers had a great time, I know I did. And Piglet did an amazing job getting and keeping it together. It was even good for us close to Ottawans…4 of us drove down for it; me, 2 of my girlfriends and my hubby! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
