Maybe this sounds like a silly question but are the challenge videos supposed to be raw footage–completely uneditied?  I am asking becuase I have been recently been videoing my pole practices from different cameras, in different areas of the room, at the same time.  It takes a bit of work to synchronize them into a movie but the results are interesting.  So ultimately, what are the rules for the Studioveena Challenge Videos?  If I have used the same dance, spliced it together while swapping camera views…is this allowed for challenge videos?

I have not been able to find a forum thread on the "rules" (if there are even any rules) or any other challenge videos that have been edited…  It really is also part of the fun for me in making my videos.

Really good question! I would kind of like to know as well.  Not because I am good at video editing, but because I am not very good at pole dance and want to edit some of my more epic fails!  Maybe I could save them and put together a "blooper reel".  🙂

The multi angle filming does sound really cool!  You should post some of your videos even if it is not for a Challenge Video!

There really are no rules 😉 the point of having the challenges is to give everyone something to work on each month. Some members edit, some don’t, it’s all up to you!

Yeah, no rules! Check out my Jan challenge video. If there were rules, Veena would have taken mine down on day one! It’s all about doing something fun together bet seeing how different everyone’s work is! Good luck.

Yay!  My video is up now, KikiGeneres.  I dunno how "cool" it is, but it is certainly a start.  I started getting into video editing when we moved to Germany, just to make our home movies more interesting.  If anyone knows of any good editing programs since I am out-growing iMove, please let me know.  Maybe you know of a few Veena?  It's sort of odd since the lighting and resolution foe both cameras are different.

Certainly it is something that I want to keep playing with! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Oh, and just a side note–sorry.  A freind of mine kinda chuckled at me for having written "Thanks for Watching!!'  I thought that it was a nice thing to say at the end of a video clip, where I appreciate that people even watched it at all.  Maybe she thought it was cheeky, corn, or even impersonal?  I never understood what the giggle, haha "thanks for watching"  was implying. So I stopped putting it in, and now the video's seem incleplete at the end.  I'm certain I am over thinking this, but what do you do at the end…?  Do you thank your "audience"…? Or just assume that they know you are thankful that they watched.

    Yes this sounds silly, hahhahttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

Sometimes I also put "Thanks for Watching" at the end or some other comment/ending.  Everyone is different, that's what's awesome, the variety.  I use AVS Video Editor a lot.  It's not professional, but fun and has enough options for me.  I have Win7 so also use the Windows Live Movie Maker.  I go back and forth between the two.

Just saw your Challenge video, beautiful!!!

Jelli – The girls on here recommended Sony's Vegas Movie Studio HD to me. It's $50, so it's pretty affordable. You can snip out all the junk you don't want, add music, add fades, add text, etc. I'm sure it does more, but I haven't tried yet.

Thanks ladies! I have a mac and the next step is getting Final Cut Pro. It’s a good bit of money to spend but I really crave more than iMovie can give me. I wonder if there is a middle of the road program before I drop $300 on FCP. I’ve done some promo-type videos for other friends from time to time, then many of my own home movies, now pole stuff. I just need to find a way to ask my husband for $300–there goes that 2nd pole fund :/ hahaha
