After YEARS of wanting to buy a Lyra finally doing it next month. Problem is I am sooo overwhelmed by info seeing online about sizing, rigging, tabs, etc kind of getting frustrated as really don’t want to waste this opportunity after waiting so long. ANY help / advice would be very much appreciated. TIA

I just googled “choosing a lyra” and came up with this site: http://www.simplycircus.com/Equipment_and_Rigging/Circus/Aerial_Hoop

    and this SV discussion: https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/buying_aerial_hoop__20120611104915

    they might help!

I tried both single tab and double tab before buying mine. The studio where I take classes has double, but I was able to try out a single tab, and liked it more, particularly for my home set up, which has limited height and space. I also don’t like tape, so I bought a powder coated lyra. I like that it has good grip without the tape burn, and I can wear my pole clothes on it.

I got mine at aerial animals. They make ropes too. I love my double tab, but it is a personal preference. Just make sure to get the proper size for your body!
