  • Chrome vs. Stainless Steel?

Hey! I’m considering ponying up the money and buying an x-stage from x-pole for some performances….a stainless steel pole is $150 more than a chrome pole…is it really worth it? I have a chrome x-pole in my room currently, and I don’t have any issues with it (other than the fact that it’s slippery as heck).

What do you think? Any advice/experience with chrome vs. stainless would be SUPER helpful! Thank you!

Everyone is different but I absolutely detest stainless steel poles. I am very sweaty so I’m sure this is why it doesn’t work for me. I just don’t do well with stainless steel , chrome is slippery but better than stainless steel for my skin. At home I have an xstage lite with a brass pole and I love it . I will caution that it is sometimes so grippy that it is a little more painful but it is worth it to me

For me SS has never been better than Chrome so if you find that slick I don’t think SS would be better for you. If the slipping is due to sweat than brass might be a good option. If you think you slip because you don’t feel like the skin grips Titanium, and Powder coated works for me. I like my brass too IF i’m dancing in a humid climate. I find I can grip any finish if I use this grip aid combo! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvvc2uvcFw
