  • Cleaning Brass Poles

Just got my brass xpole about three weeks ago and I’ve tried cleaning it with lemons cut in half which keeps it super clean and sparkly as new, but it is so inconvenient. I’ve tried rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol as many people have suggested before online but it doesn’t make my pole sparkly at all and doesn’t seem to get of streaks from grip aids/hands etc? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Forgot to add also, I love my brass pole as it is super grippy and I don’t need to use so much grip aid, but it is immensely painful the pole burns are 10x worse than on chrome poles! Is this normal?!

my pole burns are worse on brass too, although I love brass more than any other finish. I only use alcohol to clean my pole. you can ask the manufacturer what they recommend.

Well, lemons are acidic. To get the same effect, you’d have to use something else that is also acidic, which rubbing alcohol is not so much. Vinegar would probably give the same result as the lemons.

We use metho (methylated spirits) on our poles. Gets them nice and clean and strips any excess grip aids 🙂

In UK brass poles in strip clubs traditionally cleaned with gin or vodka, the cheaper the better!

Luckily I work in a science lab, so I have access to 100% ethanol (pure alcohol) and this is GREAT for all my poles, even the brass! It takes off all the residue from grip aids and sweat and leaves it perfect.

Hazlenut, you are lucky that you can use the stuff from work. Ethanol here is “controlled” so you ahve to log how much you take and for what purpose.
