How much room do you leave around your pole? The room where mine is going is currently our junk room, so I have to make a spot. I’m guessing it’s something like a radius equal to your height?

    THANK YOU!!!

A radius equal to your height would be awesome. I have only 1.2 metres around my pole, before I hit either my desk, my wall, my TV, my bookshelf or my bed haha! It’s not a perfect circle of clearance, and some places there isn’t even enough room to stick my leg out straight!

And when I was learning the extended butterfly/starfish I was foiled many a time by my damn TV or lamp or wall being in my way when I stretched out! So the more room the better. But even a small amount like what I have is fine, just be careful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’ve heard that a good 3 ft in all directions is plenty…however I personally like to have at least 6 ft to allow for plenty of room for floor work…and plus it’s no fun kicking the wall when doing an extd butterfly! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

A ton of space is ideal but we don’t all live in big houses or have studios close to our house. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif When my pole is in my living room I can get 3 sides to be pretty open (after pushing the furniture aside) but on one side I keep kicking the couch.

What I do when setting up my pole in a new room or something…. I stand on each side of the pole (4 directions… N,S,E & W) and hold onto the pole with my hand (extended arm) and extend out my leg so my body is parallel to the floor. It usually equals out to what my height is. So for me personally I like at LEAST 5 feet of space around my pole (Im 5 foot 2). That way I know when I spinning with my legs extended or doing something that requires a limb being a few feet away from the pole, I wont kick anything. I do have a desk that sits a bit closer (like 4 feet away) but its low enough to the ground that I dont bump it when Im ON the pole.

I have my whole living to myself and my pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

my living is pretty big, i believe – 12ftx 10ft.

I always end up moving my furniture to my kitchen, which isn’t heavy at all. so yeah. i have alot of space. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
