i just did my first gemini inside leg hang with no hands, but then when i'm ready to comedown, i can't figure out what to do except return to basic invert position, and slide down but it's NOT pretty at all lol-any tips on how to come out gracefully and make it look pretty? i'd love to perform it  on stage the next time i work, but don't wanna make a fool out of myself in front of hundreds of people lol Thanks!

You can learn the gemini climb and go into all sorts of different stuff; figurehead, another invert, a hold, teddy, etc.

Can you chopper?  You can chopper down the pole until you hit the ground then roll out of it.  You can also handstand out of it.

You say inside leg hang — you can spin it into an inverted thigh hold then handstand out. It's a pretty move and not tooooooo hard.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

Just being OCD, but a Gemini is an outside leg hang. An inside leg hang is a Scorpio. I like Chem's idea since it sounds like you're not ready to pull yourself back up from there. Move your legs into a V (Chopper) and slide down with control. Then do some sexy floor moves!

Saphyre, there has been debate about which is which.  Certain schools teach inside as gemini and outside as scorpio, others teach it the other way around.  Even when wikipole was up there were both images.  This is why most will call it inside/outside leg hang.  Do a google search and you will see both images.

Now that's just confusing. (Said sarcastically)

Yeah, it has been which is why there has been talk about going to a universal type naming.  I guess in the UK is where the flip is more prevalent but seeing as there have been dvds and trainers and even the PDC out of the UK it has sort of "jumped the pond".  Up until a few years ago each and every studio had their own naming scheme.  S Factor and Michelle Mynx Academy are two I can think of that have extremely different names (Griffin I think is Gemini and Descending Angel for S Factor).  Wikipole was started as a users guide to the moves and what they may be called elsewhere.  Unfortunately they got hacked a few months back and the site has not come back.

We call them "Inside leg shrimp" and "Outside leg shrimp".

    LOL!

I just did my first gemini last night, too! Congrats! 😀

Question– is the chopper basically the V-invert?

Good reference for moves and the names they go by.
