Coolest move ever!!! The Allegra?!?!?!
Posted by RoxyPink on November 19, 2009 at 2:54 pmSo anyone else think this is one of the COOLEST freaking moves???? Over the past three days I’ve been seeing it more and more….Alethea, Quila and now Angel!!! I love it…I’ve done it on accident a few times when I’d mess up on a jade or something…but never really thought of it as a move…but now..it’s all I want to do!!
Just incase you don’t know what it is…Angel does it in her most recent vid around 47 sec…

Beautiful!
So you got thismove now right Rox? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -
I had this on my ‘to do’ list for tomorrow night after work! It’s a beautiful move and not so hard to do!
My new favorite thing about pole dancing is there’s new moves being developed / happened upon all the time.
(The name of this is oddly the same name of my allergy medication.)

Bertysbooboo does it too in het latest vid (http://www.youtube.com/user/bertysbooboo#p/a/u/0/kHTc0UaWPtQ at about 0:24). It looks sooo pretty! I’m definitely trying this next practice. I’m not sure I have sufficient flexibility though..

Wanna know a funny story? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Poletential is very proud that we have a part-time fill-in instructor named Jasmin. Jas is from Australia, used to teach at Bobbi’s. Really, we’re so blessed, she’s just stunning.
Anyway, Jasmin showed this move to Fleur. She didn’t know what to call it, but said that a dancer from Australia named Allegra (who just won Miss Pole Dance Australia) did it. So Fleur decided to call it the Allegra.
And Fleur did it in her winning USPDF routine!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
It is funny how it has been popping up all over the place the past week or so. Call me biased, but Fleur does it best! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -
I don’t know if Allegra even knew the move was named after her until recently. I had posted a comment on Bertysbooboo’s youtube video referring to it as the Allegra, and in the comment I referenced Alethea’s video because that’s how I found out the name of the move. Then a couple of hours later, Allegra herself messaged me asking about the move and wanting a link to Alethea’s video. I am guessing she was not aware that there was move named after her.

Allegra is an amazing dancer! I had her as an instructor at Bobbi’s studio for 10 weeks, we all just watched her in awe the whole time

OMG, I’ve been referenced!!!! I’m sitting here laughing. Roxy, awww, I’m flattered!!! Yeah, I saw that move in the Miss PD Australia promo and HAD to try it. I just ordered the video this morning and I’m bursting with excitement to see what else is on that little piece of heaven!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
Now I know my form isn’t perfect (working on that resistance stretching to help with flexibility) BUT, the move isn’t all that hard. I was actually surprised by that.

I saw a video of Aleatha doing that lately and have been wanting to imitate since
What I can’t figure out is how she seems to get so easily from spinning chopper to gemini to jade with the outside hand ABOVE the inside (front) leg… it seems like to do this move your front jade leg would be over your hand???
Haven’t tried it yet of course, though. Has anyone else?

omg!!! so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah this spin is really pretty. Pole Kat on youtube does an awesome one too. Check it out (link below)

My lesson for today cancled, so I had some poling time to myself! I remember seeing this one yesterday and thought I’d give it a try. The first 4-5 times of getting my hand in the right place and releasing the other hand/leg, I couldn’t get my foot to "let go" of the pole. But once you realize your grip is strong enough and the pressure of your body on the pole will hold you there, its not bad at all. My upper thigh is a little tender now, not sure of other moves I’ve done that have put that pressure there before.
Plz ignore the ungraceful dismount, I’ll work on that someother day…Not sure if this the right way to post a link-

Or do you recommend another site…)

Hi girls! I am Allegra, Miss Pole Dance Australia 2010. I’m so happy you guys like my move! I’ll release a video shortly where you can see more clearly how I get into it. I have a website: http://www.allegrapoledancer.com, and I’m also on Facebook.
I have always been a fan of Veena! She is incredibly graceful and just a fantastic dancer.
XOX Allegra.

Wow…just watched the link to Pole Kat (NashvillePoleQueen). She is going around unbelievably fast! I saw Ottersock’s explanation of Fleur’s use of the Allegra move in her comp performance. I was wondering if her expressive dance routine was ever posted anywhere…I know the mandatories were up on a YT video for a while…but I never saw a vid of the longer, individual dance done at the competition. Is USPDF planning to release an "official DVD?"
