Cramer firm grip
Posted by mystical on March 20, 2016 at 6:24 pmI was looking at reviews for this, some people said it works for sweaty hand’s while pole dancing. Have any of you ladies tried this? How did you like it?

I use it when I’m practising certain inverts I’m not too great at like handsprings and cartwheel mounts. The grip is very strong so I can’t use it for static pole spins, it’s too sticky and grippy. Maybe a very light spray would make it possible but I love firm grip for training new invert moves.
Also I don’t have sweaty hands so I’m thinking for someone who does, it might loosen the grip enough to be ok for spins. -
Hmmm, not sure if it would be a good solution for sweaty hands. As Cherish mentioned it’s super grippy! I use it for performing on cold poles in cold rooms.

Hi mystical!
I also struggle with sweaty hands and have tested Firm Grip but my experience was that it was very (way too) gripy at first to be able to do spins. Also, after a while and with the sweat, it become all of a sudden very slick and slippery. The only time I really enjoyed Firm Grip was under my foot for a Cupid! -
I’ve used it and I wouldn’t put it on my hands. It’s so grippy I would almost describe it as sticky.
-
It’s very sticky! I nearly got my hands/thighs stuck together and almost couldnt get my pants back off again later on…be careful where you put it.

Thanks for all the replies, I might try it out, I have tried title grip, mighty grip, and DGP, neither of them work for me. I was thinking of trying and dry hand’s. Hopefully I’ll find something that will work.

Dew point is NOT for sweaty hands, it’s moisturizing ….so try using JUST the mighty grip or try a grip aid meant for sweaty hands like Dirty girl poletice or dry hands, things like that.

Hi there Mystical, I also struggle with sweaty hands. I’d say my experience with Firm Grip is pretty similar to what what Polarpole is describing. It’s SUPER sticky initially and is perfect for those tricky inverted hand holds (think Ayesha). It’s so sticky that it’s actually tricky to readjust, like you just put your hands on flypaper. After my hands warm up, though, it’s almost like it starts to melt, and then it ends up getting a bit slick. I found myself having to combine it with dry hands. It’s rosin based, so it makes sense that temperature thins it out.
Another good one to try is itac. You can use it on yourself or on the pole, and a little goes a long way. I’ve just starting dabbling with that one, so can’t really give a full review, but I can definitely say that there’s no such thing as too many grip aids.
-
I use firm grip but only on the pole and not on my hands. I use dry hands for my hands or mighty grip. You can try gloves or mighty grip or a mixture of dry hands and gloves or mighty grip and gloves.
-
Thanks ladies I’ll try dry hand’s cause dirty girl poltice don’t work for me. I’ll try the Cramer grip for my body or even itac. There’s so many grip aids to try. Its getting one or two that will work for me.

I have to use a combo of tiite grip and dry hands. I start applying the tite grip an hour before poling, then 30 minutes before poling and then apply dry hands while I pole. It’s pretty much the only thing that works for me now. And I still have to reapply dry hands a couple times while poling but this combo has worked best so far. Or try using your Dgp with dry hands.
-
Thanks Phoenix, I’ll try that combo and see if that helps, the dgp makes my hands slippery when I pole for some reason not sure why, I haven’t used it since that’s happen. I’ll get some tite grip and dry hands and combine it with the dirty girl to see how it works. Since I’m in a cold climate I want to try the and mighty grip for my body like veena suggests.
-
Yes dgp alone makes my hands soft and slippery but when combined with dry hands you get a very good grip.
-
I would try the dgp and dry hands and then tite grip with dry hands. I wouldn’t use all 3 together . The tite grip needs to be used atleast 3 minutes before poling for it to work. It needs time to plug up the sweat glands. Then the dry hands gives extra tackiness and grip. Dgp also absorbs into the sweat glands which can make your hands dry and soft . So it does block the sweat but you have no texture on your hands to grip with . That’s why the dry hands works after you’ve applied the dgp. 🙂

I use firm grip only for silks or hoop (my hoop is powder coated vs taped). I have tried it on my feet for cupid, but otherwise, I’ve heard too many horror stories of skin ripping off for me to be comfortable poling in it regularly. But, we all have different body chemistry, so you’ll likely need to experiment to find what works best for you.
