  • Cramer’s Firm Grip on Brass?

I started pole on chrome and that's what I have at home. The studio I switched to uses brass and I want to get the same feel that I get with iTac+Tite Grip on my chrome on brass. Itac is a no-go on brass though. I've heard some people talk about Cramers Firm Grip. Has anyone tried it on brass? Spray or paste? And do you put it on your body or the pole? I've heard people have a hard time removing it from chrome poles, is this the case for brass? Will it leave a hard to remove residue on the pole if I put it on myself? Lots of questions I know. I just don't want to spend $20 on the stuff if others have experienced serious problems with it.

Have you poled on brass before?  You may not need any grip aid at all.

I have and I was really slick. It might have been because of the poles I was using, but I just couldn't get a good, secure, feeling grip. Others at that studio also complain about how slippery it can be, so it might just be those brass poles.

In my studio we have silks and hammock so we have firm grip – our poles are brass but I think firm grip works well on anything lol. It is however a pain in the BUTT to clean off the poles – I hate when students use it – I try to hide the can before pole class 😉 and spray it on your hands not the pole… Also know a little goes a long way. The thing is it is really grippy so if you are sharing poles it might not be cool for anyone else using the pole – I would ask them first if you are sharing 🙂

There is a product called Liquid Grip that I absolutely adore and it has worked well for me on pretty much any pole surface.  It is not that expensive either.  They have a little squeeze bottle with a carabineer that is great to keep in your pole bag and it is like $6.  http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/liquid-grip/liquid-grip.html?MCID=CG-PLA-US&mr%3AtrackingCode=C61AAE07-4C5B-E211-8D02-001517384908&mr%3AreferralID=NA&mr%3AadType=pla&mr%3Aad=24565941906&mr%3Akeyword=&mr%3Amatch=&mr%3Afilter=41325473466

If you have a Vitamin Shoppe near you I think they even sell the large bottles in the store.

Cramers grip is REEEEEEEALLY sticky. It's rosin based. If you tried putting it on your body you might stick too much! Have you tried Dew point? is my personal fav for body grip. Cramers leaves a hard to get off residue on my brass.

I have a brass pole and Cramers didn't work well with it at all!! I would try some of the other products mentioned previously. Cramers works great on my Chrome though.

I know that here in a few Sydney pole schools that use 38mm Brass poles, girls love to use Shaving Cream on their legs and body to have grip. Just a bit. Not too much as a little goes a long way.

I regularly put a bit of iTac 2 on my legs and I've used this on Chrome, Stainless Steel & Brass poles and never had an issue with this. Only a bit though once again. Not too hard to clean off either and I use Metho & Water in a spray bottle. The studios I've been to all use that too.

Yep, I use shaving cream for my legs to stick on brass. (And chrome) . or a little spritz of hairspray also works. For my hands…it depends on the weather, but mostly I use dry hands if i need it. If I’m really sweaty or clammy ill use tite grip. Honestly I prefer dry hands and shaving cream combo.i know that at some competitions they apply dry hands straight to the brass pole, but I’ve never done that because I’ve felt no need
