I know I'm not the only one that probably gets really bad cramps on the legs….but last night I had one so bad that my toes looked like the excorcist and this morning I felt like someone beat my calf with a bat.  I do a lot of stretching and yoga, I get massages and eat/drink lots of fruit and veggies high in potassium, but I still get them.  I also have tried protein shakes high on potassium, but after 3 days of drinking my stomach is in a lot of pain to the point I can't eat or drink.

Magnesium citrate works well as a muscle relaxant however too much and you will be running to the bathroom.  I use a product called Natural Calm but you can also just buy little bottles of it already in solution where laxatives are (it is generally on the bottom shelf).

The other thing that sound odd but work instantly for me is tonic water.  Quinine is known to get rid of leg and foot cramps and is marketed as a homeopathic medicine for them.  What makes tonic water tonic water is quinine.  My husband drinks it with vodka so I always have it on hand but it is great if you are ever out partying as bars always have it too.

Now that you metion Magnesium….about 3 years ago, my doctor told me that it was very low and he did send me a powder that had to be mixed with hot water….I don't know if it's was the one you mention. But thanks!! I'm going to get some tonight and I also have tonic water in my mini bar…so I will start drinking that too!!!

Yea, Natural Calm is mixed with hot water and it fizzes like crazy and is super super super tart.

I have been taking Natural Calm "raspberry lemon flavor" for 2 days twice a day and no cramps!!! I decided to drink it hot "morning & night"…..it's not easy to drink cause that tart taste does come through, but it's drinkable 🙂

I add the smallest amount of water possible, let it fizz down and then shoot it like a shot.  And I am hard core as I just get the original flavor which is REALLY tart!

    Glad that it is helping!
