Thanks nymph for the concern. I have never fallen and at my age am afraid to try things the younger ones do. The reason i am getting a mat, is my carpet is being replaced w wood floor and when i slide down from invets etc, i want a soft landing beside hard wood. But I am sure I will have a major fall someday, and hopefully the mat will be down.

Thank you for your concern as well. I really meant safer not safe. I figured common sense would come in as far as not doing something someone isn’t able to do yet. Also not doing something new regardless of the mat without a spotter. 🙂

I got mine a few years ago from a company that doesn't make them anymore…it ROCKS…and looks exactly like the Lil Mynx one out now – hopefully the quality is the same but I don't know – if so it is a very sturdy mat 🙂

I got my 2nd one from Amazon, it's a Yoga direct mat.  Thay are factory seconds, but still work!  The velcro doesn't reach far enough to close, or it has heated seams (spliced together instead of a whole piece)…but I just added an extention and VIOLA!  That's why they are less expensive!

Mine does close somewhat, but not 100%, so it makes sense that it would be a second. It's not that big of a deal though. Works just fine.

Neither of mine seems to have any problems – and I have several students who got the ones off Amazon who have never complained about anything.

Not all of them will have the same defects…the point is in manufacturing if there is one little thing that doesn't meet specs they can't sell them at regular price.  TJ Maxx and Burlinton Coat factory are just a few places that get slightly imperfect items, so they can sell them inexpensively!  I love those stores!!  I am very happy with my mat!!

OK folks, my crash mat just came.  It was much nicer than I thought.  It is so cushioney!  My poles aren't up right now, but it seems as if the velcro will reach around and close just fine.  I am very excited to try it out.  If you are thinking about getting one, I would highly recommend it!  I will give you an update when I actually get a chance to use it.
