So, I started researching crash mats and I was wondering if anybody could give me a good recommendation? I noticed there are ones that are 2 inches and other ones that are 5 inches in thickness. Are the ones that are 2 inches thick give you enough protection if you crash? Thanks:)

    I purchased a 5 inch and I’m very glad that I did… no fear!

I have one of each. Some moves I would not want to fall out of onto a 2 inch mat! But I do have wooden floors. Having said that I have fallen from an inverted crucifix onto the 2 inch one and it did protect me.

I have a 5″ one also, and although I have not crashed on it (so far! ) it has giving me “peace of mind”. It does not work for me when I tried hand springs from the floor due to lack of stability on the ground, I’m way too short,….and because I still can not do that move !!! (But I can hand spring coming from the pole). Happy Poling!

The lulu mats are good because even the 6 inch one is firm enough so that you don’t sink into it. So you can still invert up off it ok. They are pricy but I do think they are worth it. You can really tell the difference.
