  • DVD’s: Art of Pole vs Pole Mastery

I have been looking into a pole fitness DVD set to give me some practice at home between my weekly class. The two most popular sets seem to be Jamilla Deville’s “Art of Pole” and Felix Cane’s ” Pole Mastery.” Has anyone tried both sets? Which series is better overall? I know they both contain 5 dvd’s, and one costs about $25 more than the other. The less expensive series seems to be more popular, but I am willing to spend the extra for a superior product. Any other advice on pole fitness dvd’s is welcome as well. Thanks!

Lots of infor on the Felix Cane ones here:

I have not seen both sets so I do not have an opinion.  I will however say that for the money and the instruction/feedback/ability to ask questions Veena's lessons are what I would recommend.

I want Veena’s lessons, but I need something I can view without an Internet connection. Thanks for the link!

I have Felix's full 5 DVDs, and I've tried Jamilla's first two DVDs.
Honestly, for learning new pole moves and just starting out, I would definitely say get Jamilla's DVD's. She explains things a lot better, breaks it all down very well.

However, for things like putting a routine together, and for flexibility, Felix is Queen. Those two DVD's in her set are irreplaceable for me.

I personally find Felix to be more "inspirational," but that's mostly because I'm a huge Felix Cane fangirl. Jamilla's routines are… impressive, but they don't quite excite me the way I think they're meant to.

Oh, and for conditioning… Jamilla will kick your butt. She will. I don't think Felix does anything for strength (a whole DVD devoted to Flexibility, though!).

So, I suppose it depends on what you're looking for! You could always buy a couple of one set, a couple of another, and see what you think!

Thank you! That was really helpful. I was leaning towards Jamilla and now that you say she focuses more on strength, that sealed the deal. Plus I think her set is less expensive, but that isn’t considering shipping. Maybe next year I’ll get Felix’s set. I have to get whole sets; I have an OCD thing about it.

I stand corrected about price. After shipping to US, they are only $2 apart in price, not $25.

I have 3,4 and 5 of Jamillia's set, and I totally agree with with Runemist ,they are brilliant for breaking down moves and conditioning for certain moves eg Ayesha, shoulder mount etc I have learnt alot with these and I also have Felix's set and love hers too they are more for a visual learner not so much detail but still very good with a lot of content.  I did manage to get my first Jade watching Felix, though not anywhere as good as hers lol.
