Haha I already told him off when I saw him at the gym (he works there) – told him my hamstrings have been cursed with his genes lol. Luckily he didn’t take it personally!
I will persevere and hopefully it won’t be heredetory and this time next year I’ll be doing lovely splits! Lol.
I’m really glad that you said stretching twice a day is ok as I went ahead and did 20 mins of stretching at the gym. I do enjoy stretching once I’ve started it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Of ALL the dvds which would everyone recommend if I were to get one for stretching? It is always better when you have someone to lead you.

I practiced until I couldn’t hold myself up yesterday. How deep should I stretch out today? I kept my cooldown stretches on the lighter side yesterday because I really did overdo it a bit and didn’t want to overstretch.

I stretched yesterday a half hour or so and will ofcourse be doing stretches today since I teach.
Am sticking with my routine of pigeon, sitting on blocks in lunge position and sitting in straddle (there are more, forward fold sitting/standing, butterfly, happy baby, frog, etc.)
As far as stretching when you are sore, you still need to be warmed up. SO it’s not good to work so hard in one day that you are super sore because your muscles will be tighter. I know it’s hard not to over practice since pole is so addictive but be careful. I’d suggest a nice soak in epson salt and light stretching, don’t stretch deep and try to hold them for a super long time (I usually hold my poses 3-5 minutes.) Oh, my kingdom for a bathtub! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I have the world’s teeniest, tiniest, cruddiest shower stall of all time. Renter’s plight hehe. I live in a first floor apt. in a really old house, and ith a lot of the old houses in my neighborhood, all the first floor bathrooms were added on when the house was split to apts. The result? Can’t find a place close to school with a decent bathroom.

My udate: I last posted here on Wed so 4 or 5 days ago. Since then I have stretched 3 of those days for minimum 20 mins. Mostly focusing on my legs and hips. I think the swan pose I do for the muscle that runs along the outside of your thigh (from your butt to your knee) is slowly working, YAY! Also I foudn doing forward folds are much easier when m legs are open very wide (as far as I can straddle), as oppose to when my legs are just open in a comfortable V. I think this is because the former is mostly a groin stretch while the latter is groin AND hammies. Seems hammies are definitely the culprit! I also suspected this since I work and study in I.T. Lol! I spend about 10 hours a day sitting down! Yikes! Sitting in butterfly stretch for 10 mins at a time is still not helping my right knee much, but it does budge about 1 or 2 cm after that time.
