Day 7 was definitely not my best – for some reason I’ve been getting loads of headaches when I backbend lately (which is super weird because I have a very bendy back and I’ve never had issues before), and that night I got a massive head rush so I just stopped. I can’t really think of a medical reason for why this is happening… anyone else have this problem out of nowhere? It’s not even like it’s in my deepest backbends either, just randomly!

@lola, sometimes the little muscles right under the back of the head get tight and cause tension headaches. Maybe that’s what’s going? Try stretching the back of your neck by putting your chin to your chest and see if that helps

Lola? Do you ever have sinus trouble? I get headaches when my sinus’s are acting up and I invert or back bend.

Lucca – sometimes it might be that, and I do try to do that stretch regularly (because I need to work on my neck and upper back flexibility).
Veena – I often have some degree of sinus congestion, but I use prescription nasal spray daily and these headaches never used to happen in the past when I would get really congested. It just doesn’t seem to correlate enough to have that be the reason. Too bad, because that would be an easier fix.

Often, it’s a very quick head-rush type of headache. Like only lasts seconds to a minute after I stop the backbend. But it is super intense. If I ignore it, then that’s when it’s more likely to wind up as a longer lasting headache (I get migraines, and have a tendency that if any headache continues for a little while then it sticks around for the rest of the day). The ones I’m wondering about are the super intense head-rush type headaches. It’s driving me crazy! (I am working on breathing during backbends too, not perfect and I still hold my breath sometimes, but it’s better than it used to be so that doesn’t seem like it could explain them either)

Oh! Never done this before! My knee went well to the side, and, when I finished, I felt a good stretch in my lower back 0_O

    Day 10
My first ever pathetic attempt at astavakrasana
No upper body body strength whatsoever, but my bum was actually lifted off the floor a couple of inches. Ah, well! Will get there, eventually!
