Decorating Pole Room
Posted by 2dyzzi on May 13, 2010 at 9:49 pmAlright so my pole is in my basement right now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
I’m thinking of decorating for a more inspirational ? atmosphere. Besides a giant mirror, I don’t have anything. I’m thinking of better lighting, but what else have you or would you do? Posters or something? I’m sure it comes down to personal preferance, but I really have no ideas and am open to any suggestions https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gifnymphdancer replied 14 years, 6 months ago 6 Members · 7 Replies -

Ohhh I love feather fans or boas! I use X mas light and you could also swap out the regular bulbs for red or purple ones. Ummmm You could keep a dry erase board in your pole room too, then you can write down what you want to work on for the day or week. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I used these in mine. I reversed the flowers and didn’t use the funky brown one.I’ll post a pic on my profile so you can see what I mean.

mine is in my basement as well..and has been kind of blah..so i know what you are getting at..For me what i have invisioned anyways of doing is getting these two big mirrors with the arched top (they are 30 bucks each at menards) and they are like floor to ceiling..anywho..doing that and getting rope xmas lighting and outlining the ceiling with that..and then getting a sheer almost see through curtain thing and somehow tack that to my wall so its not just a plain old white wall behind me…but thats whats in my head so far lol

Ive seen several studios that have pole dancer silhouettes painted onto the walls! It looks so cool! Paint the walls a color you like then trace the silhouettes onto the walls and paint with black paint! It looks really neat if you paint them onto either side of your pole so that when you are dancing you are in between them! Good Luck! Post pics of whatever you decide to do!

Oh I forgot. I got some super cheap pasties and I’m framing them in black shadow boxes. I have leopard and sparkley ones, ones with tassels. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif They look pretty awesome.

And yes I will post some pics I promise. Right now it would be hard to see me, but once I get my decorating done I’ll make sure to bust out some of my new moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

personally not a fan of mirrors in my dance space so I would want to put some gauzy fabric over it that I could pull back if I was working on a move where I wanted to see myself, although I prefer to have someone just watch or video it because I find when either riding horses or poling in front of a mirror you tend to look to much and can even put your body in some odd positions just to be able to see yourself. (just my 2 cents I know tons of the studios use mirrors a lot) with the gauzy fabric you could still see body position.
I would also put in one of those asian looking lamps that is tall and skinny fabric with a low voltage light bulb.
a lap dance chair to play on even if no one else ever sits in it. and a regular kitchen or club type wooden chair for some fun play like in Jamilla’s tease dvd.
If I had the space I would have one area as sort of a dressing room with boa’s, hats that kind of stuff.
But this is all coming from my more pole dancer then pole fitness perspective in the end it is your space you need to do with it what will make you happy and feel like using the space.
