Did you ever ‘mess up’ during a performance?
I'm pretty pissed. I had my studios 3 year anniversary party last night that had student and instructor performances, and I've been practicing for this event for months. I performed last year as well, but it was still only my 2nd choreographed routine and my 4th time pole dancing in public. My whole routine went great right up until the very end, where I went into my yogini but for some reason I lost hold of my foot, and then by the time I tried to grab it again, the song ended and I had to stop. I'm dying to see the video, I'm really curious to see if it was that obvious to the crowd that I didn't get to do the trick that I wanted. It really sucks because the yogini was one of those tricks that I learned really early on, I have never had any problems with it before and could probably do it blindfolded on a fast spinning pole. I have no idea what went wrong this time. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them during a performance? It would be comforting to hear similar stories and how you dealt with it. (It also doesn't help that within the first 15 seconds of my routine I bumped my head on the pole very loudly during floorwork, but thank god nobody really saw unless you were in the front row, hehe.)
