    Hi Everyone,

I bought a pole a couple years ago and when I had to take it down I couldn't separate the two middle pieces.  I didn't think anything of it because  I had enough room to put this whole piece in my closet.  I am not moving and would like to take it apart so that it can fit in my car.

This is what I tried, suggestion were taken off of the internet.

My husband who is not a small person and myself tried to separate it with the tools provided when I bought it.  Putting a ice pack to shrink the metal, using a rubber hammer and giving it a good whack to do a quick release.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it yet — but a Platinum Stages employee said to use rubber strap wrenches, something icy on the "male" side (ice pack/frozen peas/etc), and something warm on the "female side" (like a hair dryer).  Then use the rubber strap wrenches to help pull apart.  HTH!

    Hi finesse and Chemgoddess1

I have tried the rubber wrench using cold but not the hot with a hair dryer.  Will definitely try this.

Chemgoddess1 This is a Star-Pole.  Bought in Toronto Canada.
