Do you have a mirror by your pole? Do you think having one is essential to 'see' what you're doing? How big is the one you have?

I currently dont have one but would love one or two around! I think it helps if you can see and correct yourself as you go! I always video myself instead so I can look back and try remember to change something the next time im poling!
I wish I did! its not "essential", but its definitely helpful! When I'm at home, and have no mirror, I also video myself so I can see what it looks like. At the studio we have really large mirrors and they're great! Its really nice to be able to see what you look like when you're trying something new.
I don't, but at my studio we have large mirrors too and now that I am more confident with my dancing, I've started to look at myself and make sure that my fingers are extended, my toes are pointed, etc.
I sure do. I started out with one now I have three lined up on my wall and I'm thinking of buying 2 more so I can see the full length of my body when I do different moves.
At home, I have nowhere to prop up a mirror by my pole. To make up for this, I open up iMovie on my laptop so that acts as a "mirror" and I may record so I can play it back. This really helps increase my body awarenss. It might not necessarily be essential in your everyday practices, but I feel like it has contributed to my progress towards dancing as pretty as I feel.
I have one mirror that is taller than I am (I'm 5 feet and a few inches) and between 3 and 4 feet wide. I think it really helps, but before I put that in my pole room I used my laptop like darling, but the web cam was too slow. I really want a mirror across from it and some mirrors on the ceiling and the sides would be helpful too. It think it helps me see what I am doing and correct myself, for example, see when the positioning of my hands is awkward if I am trying to glide them down my body or realize that my hair flip isn't awful like I thought it was.
I move my pole around my house a lot. The main room it always ends back up in has floor to ceiling mirrors along both main walls. It's the bedroom lmfao I will admit that I get more enjoyment out of being able to watch myself and being able to see what kind of face I make etc when I am concentrating really hard (lets just say it's not very pretty or feminine, very squinty) helps me to think about that as part of my whole technique. It also can really help me to isolate muscle groups, like by staring at my reflection I try and focus on making "that girls" hips roll fluidly etc. So by watching what "mirror me" (as I fondly call her) is doing I can focus more on what something feels like when I nail it rather than what it looks like. Did that make any sense? Hard to explain.. I try to video my sessions but half the time it is very impromptu (i just climbed out of the shower and oh boy look at the grip i have) kind of a thing :-) So I would have to say poling with ample mirrors definitely helps me connect and flow things better at least.
I used to have one of those mirrors that you hang on a door next to my pole, but it was too small to see anything. So now I just film my practices from my laptop and watch it the video instead. I much prefer to have a mirror big enough to see everything so I can adjust my moves while I pole. Mirrors and company is the best part of going to a studio to practice. I keep having these daydreams that I'll walk into the pole room one day and see that my bf has installed wall to wall floor to ceiling mirror for me as a surprize. It hasn;t happened yet.
I have a mirror in my poling room but i really don't rely on it. I let the feeling be my eyes and guide. When I know im in the right position that lighter than air let go feeling gives me that Q to relax all expressions and its almost like I can see myself
