Does anyone have an XPole Permanent Mount?
Posted by JeHanne on February 17, 2011 at 11:02 pmHello!
I did a forum search but could not find much on this…
I am interested in the XPole Permanent Mount… does anyone use this and have any pictures of it or feedback on it? I am wondering if it is more secure than the XPole dome. Due to my floors I am unable to secure a permanent floor mount but I would be able to do a ceiling mount.
Thank you,
JeHanne

Yup, I have it (due to my vaulted ceilings) but you can certainly use it on flat ceilings as well. Search here for Xpole vaulted ceiling bracket and you'll find some threads w/ pics in it.
I've used the dome but now use the permanent mount. It works wonderfully but installation is definately more involved….for example, the bracket has 6 holes round the edges for the screws to secure the mount to your ceiling…but only the 2 top and bottom screws would line up with a joist. So I had to get in my attic and secure additional supports to the side of my joist for the other screws to mount into….

Thank you UTpoler! I had not even considered the width of the joist being less than the diameter of the pole. I better check that out first. Appreciate the reply!

I have it as well! I really like it and think it’s easier to put up and down with the permanent mount!

Thank you Veena for the reply!
I was wondering if the ceiling mount made the Xpole less likely to fall. I know that it would have to be installed per manufacturer's instructions etc etc… just wondering what opinions on that were.
I also like the look, seems very sleek.
Can anyone that has one snap a shot of the pole where it connects to the ceiling? I have not seen one mounted, only what is on the XPole accessories page.
Thanks!

I have a pic but can't figure out how to attach it to the thread???? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Hi UTpoler, Hmmm…. it does not look like you can attach a pic. I guess you can post links to pics that are added to things like photobucket etc. I'm sorry!!! I did not know the forum did not allow attachments.

Bummer. That's kinda lame. Ok, here ya go. 🙂

BTW – this obviously is a vaulted ceiling, but the part that attaches to the pole swivels so you can use it on a flat ceiling too.

WOW!!! That looks absolutely gorgeous! I love how it has such a clean look. Thank you so much for posting this picture. I am going to measure the size of my joists to see what I have to work with.

It does look really nice. I too have been searching for reviews of the ceiling mount. My question is does it still spin for the x-pert pole?

You can still set spin on the Xpert Xpole when you have a ceiling mount. The ceiling mount replaces the Dome… so beautiful. I want one!

Hii
I just got an x pole permanent mount (finally) but it doesn't come with screws does anyone have one? If so what screws did they use?
Also I need opinions I live in an apartment that has a dropped section of the ceiling that looks like a beam as it runs across the middle of the whole length of the apartment and its about a foot wide. I've knocked on it and it doesn't sound hollow, so is it possible that the whole thing is solid? Its a fairly old building so made of strong stuff haha

I have the permanent mount installed on a vaulted ceiling. Mine came with screws but zero instructions. So when I realized the screws were way to spaced out to fit on a regular stud I emailed X-Pole and they told me to just install it with the middle screw on each side screwed into the stud. So that is how mine is and I haven’t had any problems yet.

Mines had to go through the plaster board, which is about 2 inches thick, I’ve been on the pole since and no problems has anyone else had to do this?
